Next Tournament?

We have decided on 3 choices for the first tournament which will start beginning of June (plenty of time for MoH, SoF, IR to get moving)...

1. 4v4 CS World Cup - teams divided into divisions (randomly) and play round robin in divisions. Top teams advance to a "playoff". Would work similar to regular 4v4 CS battles except class tags must be worn which means no changing classes mid-match at all...

2. 5v5 CS (1 grunt/sniper ---> Mortar) - this was done on WarZone, and most clans have the capacity to do this and this keeps out the specials. Class tags again, would be a double elimination tournament.

3. 6v6 CS (1 grunt/sniper ---> Officer [Bothan, Imp Officer, Clone Commander, Magna Guard] 1 grunt/sniper ---> Special 2 [Wookie, Darkie, Jet Trooper, Driodeka]) - this was done once on the BFC with huge success, and a lot of fun. Used to be a staple on Sonic Army (old school SWBF2 gaming site) and was the only thing they did right. Class tags worn, double elimination. Draw back is that this is a massive (for current times) battle size. Clans that enter would have to prove they can get 6 on at a time. Clone Wars would be worked into this because the specials balance things. Clone grunts are almost as accurate as the Super Battle Driods despite the wrist rocket advantage (and tri shot), and faster fire rate. This is balanced by Jet/Driodeka matchup. Would be double elimination tournament.

Voice any opinions here...vote in the poll. Also, to EU clans, we would balance the playing field for a tournament - go back to last season's rules (2 in BFC, 2 in RoR/LF, if tied keep playing back and forth until one clan wins two consecutive in US and EU server). NO CTF MAPS WOULD BE PLAYABLE IN THESE TOURNAMENTS.

I'm ok with the 5v5 CS and 6v6 CS for smaller clans to merge together with another small clans for TOURNAMENT PURPOSES ONLY.

Same as Kray Kray. 5v5 Mortar. Also, I quote Delta saying "clone grunt is more accurate than super battle driod". What? SBD's wrist blaster has NO recoil at all! Every single shot is pin-point accurate. Add the wrist rockets which are watered-down copies of regular rockets (less splash damage and less body damage) and the tri-shot (which can one-hit people like the engy's shotgun), and I think we can all agree that the SBD is the most OPed grunt in this game.

Agreed, clone grunt fire rate is faster and still more accurate than rebel/emp grunt. Jet > Driodeka makes up for it in 6v6 CS.

Droideka is hilarious... the 6v6 looks like the most fun, is this a clan specific event or just teams of players? Because i mean clans that may not have enough for 6 could maybe team up or something so we can pull it off, because I'd like to try that. 5v5 is cool too though... i just think the 6v6 would be fun.

Detpacks only, pistols only, darkies vs bothans, CTF only, people stand in the middle of a catwalk (the one on Death Star or Kamino) and try to push each other off, grunts only, team deathmatch (no bases), hunt, space, team defender (spec would count who holds flag the longest), infected (snipers with pistols/grenades/auto turrets only vs any other class, people who die would have to join the snipers on the other team), East vs West, 5 players vs 10 players, rookies vs veterans, clan + clan vs clan + clan... just brainstorming

I think a 6v6 tournament would be sick. The season is already 4v4 so why do another tournament like that? For teams like us who don't have 6, we could join up with on another squad or something.

Looks like we will be going with a 6v6 CS. We'll be hammering out the rules and have them for you shortly. Sign-ups be posted in about a week.

Because the 6v6 CS tournament was cancelled, does that mean we should choose another? I recommend a tournament that doesn't require a large amount of manpower for one clan, or just waiting until the BFC becomes more active.

Also, what is the reward if a team/player wins the tourney? And could a tourney team be composed of different clan members?

We will be doing a grunt tournament. And we're going to wait a week, see if finals finish up and return activity. Minimum 4v4. Unless someone has a better idea. Prize for winning the tournament will be determined.
